Hal Silverman has been looking at the world differently for most of his life. He explains it simply: "It's not what's in front of a photographer, it's what's inside."

Throughout his career, after graduation from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications with a Bachelor of Science in Illustration Photography, he's been exercising that internal vision.

A brief assignment shooting national advertising and catalogue illustrations under deadline pressure for Macy's taught him the importance of organization and meticulous preparation. After a few years of shooting and learning in the studio of another nationally respected commercial photographer, Hal opened his own shop in 1989. He's never questioned his path.

"I live to create images that excite our clients and their customers," he says. "The business has continued to grow and our portfolio keeps them coming back to our door."
